"AHA! Welcome as a new Gunner Bro! So happy that Mesut is joining AFC and we can play together in the club, too", enthused fellow countryman Lukas Podolski on the social network 'Instagram', together with a photograph of the two of them at the German national team camp, holding an Arsenal shirt. "Aha Bro ;)" another German :) lets hope not as crazy as you though bro!", jokingly twitted English midfielder Jack Wilshere in response to Podolski. Wilshere also commented that Özil was the "Signing of the summer! Easily! Fantastic player, plays the 'Arsenal way'". He also sent a welcoming message to his new teammate Santi Cazorla: "Welcome, 'ace'. What an amazing player", he said from his Twitter account. Englishman Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was also over the moon with the new signing: "What a signing that is for us! Mesut, welcome to Arsenal! :D". Arsène Wenger also wanted to broadcast his happiness regarding the German super-stars imminent arrival, saying that he was "extremely pleased" that the negotiations between "The Gunners" and "Los Blancos" turned out well. "He is a great player, with proven quality at both club and international level. We have watched and admired him for some time as he has all the attributes I look for in an Arsenal player", he assured.
